     Kimberly Lynn (McIntyre) Todd, 49, of Peoria, formerly of Champaign, passed away at 7:53 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, in Peoria.

     Kim was born in Clinton, IA on April 28, 1961. She graduated from Clinton High School and from professional cosmetology school.  Her present occupation was a professional aesthetician.

     She was a vibrant Christian woman of many talents and incredible compassion for others. She began singing at a very young age and continued to share this talent throughout her life in a variety of settings. Her performances were heartfelt and deeply touching. Her friends and family were always delighted to receive paintings, drawings, poems and other works of art that Kim lovingly created. She was an artist in every sense of the word.

     Perhaps most outstanding about Kim was her endless compassion for others, which flowed out of her love for Jesus. She always seemed to be serving others. She will be missed by so many and she has left us too soon.

     Surviving are Matthew Todd, whom she married in 1984; children, Abby, Carly and Keaton Todd, all of Peoria; parents, John and Marilyn McIntrye of Elkhart, IN; sisters, Jodi (David) Taylor of Wakarusa, IN and Toni (Tim) Hoerr of Champaign; brother, Mel (Dottie) McIntyre of Louisville, KY; two grandchildren, Isaac and Eve; and many nieces and nephews also survive.

     Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010, at Riverside Community Church in Peoria, with the Rev. Pat Sheets officiating.  The family requests no flowers. Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family or to New Life Ministries at www.newlife.com.

     Arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 428 W. McClure Ave., in Peoria.

Kim was a truely great person. She was a wonderful singer. It was my privilege to hear her beautiful voice on Worship teams and at special events. She was a fearless actress on many of the New Life  "Saturday Night Life" skits and was always really fun to hang out with.

When Renee and I moved to TN in 2003 Kim and Matt tirelessly helped us pack the trucks and were such a blessing to us.

She sent me a song she had written and recorded in 2005. I put it on my Music Web Page at

    t-wordsmith.com   please listen to it when you can and remember Kim as I always will.

My deepest condolences.  May these few words from the Holy Scriptures bring you comfort in your time of grief...

John 11:32-45

32 And so Mary, when she arrived where Jesus was and caught sight of him, fell at his feet, saying to him: “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.” 33 Jesus, therefore, when he saw her weeping and the Jews that came with her weeping, groaned in the spirit and became troubled; 34 and he said: “Where have YOU laid him?” They said to him: “Lord, come and see.” 35 Jesus gave way to tears. 36 Therefore the Jews began to say: “See, what affection he used to have for him!” 37 But some of them said: “Was not this [man] that opened the eyes of the blind man able to prevent this one from dying?”

38 Hence Jesus, after groaning again within himself, came to the memorial tomb. It was, in fact, a cave, and a stone was lying against it.39 Jesus said: “TAKE the stone away.” Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to him: “Lord, by now he must smell, for it is four days.”40 Jesus said to her: “Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” 41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth.” 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: “Laz´a·rus, come on out!” 44The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: “Loose him and let him go.”

45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;

Dear Matt, Abby, Carly and Keaton, We were overwhelmed by the news that just got to us today. We can't imagine your grief. Kim was absolutely everything that everyone is saying. She is such an example of Christian love because she will live on in each one of you. She loved so much to hear how things were going here in Brazil and it thrilled our hearts to see how she loved all people. Her love spread around the world. She will be missed but I know how she loved her family. I can only depend on the Word of God-the Bible at this time. In Psalm 116:15 it says, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." He gets this angel with Him and she is there singing His praises for an eternity. A life is well lived if it points to our Savior and glorifies His name. No one on the earth or in heaven will argue that her life was well lived. I give thanks for her smile, her songs, her voice, her love, the way she lived life to the fullest. You will be in our prayers. I am so glad that prayers can touch people from far or near. Love, Ken and Joanne Reutter
